The founder

Jake Edwards

Jake Edwards began his Marine Corps service in 2003 as a combat engineer. He deployed to Iraq and served in the Second Battle of Fallujah in 2004 with 3rd Battalion, 1st Marines. He was honorably discharged as a sergeant in 2009.

After the Corps, Jake spent years as a military deployment-training instructor. He then served a major public school district as its school security training specialist, and later as supervisor of crisis management.

He built Threat Response to bring that experience to the people who need it. The training is direct. It is tested. It works in the real world.

How we train

Our approach

Three things shape every program we run. They are simple on purpose.

Outcomes over fear.

We never sell fear. We build confidence and a plan.

Simple under stress.

If it is too complex to use in a crisis, we cut it.

Built for your people.

Your staff are not operators. We train them as they are.
